Trying to share your Simify data, but the hotspot just won’t cooperate? Totally get it. Let’s walk through the most common fixes together — quick, simple, and no tech jargon overload.
Before we start
Just a quick check so we don’t chase the wrong thing:
- Your Simify eSIM is installed and active
- You’re already connected to mobile data
- You’re in a covered country for your plan
Before updating your APN, head to our eSIM APN Reference List and find the APN for your destination. You may need to enter this manually in the steps below if your hotspot isn’t working properly.
Using an iPhone
If the hotspot isn’t working on an iPhone, it’s usually tied to the APN settings. Let’s start there.
- Go to phone Settings
- Tap Mobile Service (or Cellular)
- Select your eSIM
- Tap Mobile Data Network (or Cellular Data Network)
- Scroll down to Personal Hotspot
- Make sure the APN matches the one used for your mobile data
- If there’s already an APN entered, replace it with the correct one
- Restart your iPhone
- Go back to your hotspot settings
- Turn Personal Hotspot On
- Connect your other device
If it doesn’t connect right away, give it a moment and try again
Using a Samsung
Most Samsung phones set this up automatically, but sometimes your hotspot can stop working if the APN needs a refresh.
- Go to phone Settings
- Tap Connections or Network & Internet
- Tap Mobile Networks
- Tap Access Point Names
- Select your Simify APN, or tap Add to create a new one
- Enter the APN for your destination
- Save it and make sure it’s selected
- Restart your phone
- Turn hotspot On
- Connect your other device
Using a Google Pixel
Pixel phones follow a slightly different menu path, so here’s the exact route.
- Go to phone Settings
- Tap Network & Internet
- Tap SIMs
- Select your Simify eSIM
- Tap Access Point Names
- Select the Simify APN, or add a new one if needed
- Enter the correct APN for your destination
- Save it and make sure it’s selected
- Restart your phone
- Go to phone Settings
- Tap Hotspot & tethering
- Turn hotspot On
- Connect your other device
