Will I Have Coverage While I’m on a Cruise or Out at Sea?

No, coverage isn’t available while you’re out at sea — but nothing’s wrong with your eSIM.

Mobile networks only work through land-based towers, which means open ocean coverage isn’t possible.

Once your cruise ship docks or gets close to shore, your activated eSIM will automatically reconnect, and your service will resume.

Already docked?

If the country you’ve docked in isn’t included in your eSIM’s coverage, your eSIM won’t be able to connect.

You can:

  • Check the product page for the eSIM you bought
  • Click on Country List to see the countries it works in
  • Click on Quick Info to see the expected data speeds
