Unlimited vs Fixed Plans: Speed & Fair Usage

Unlimited plans give you data for the full duration of your plan. You won’t run out of data before your validity period ends.

However, unlimited plans are subject to Fair Usage Policies set by network providers.

What you need to know

  • Unlimited means no hard data cap during your plan period.
  • Very high usage in a short time may trigger a temporary speed reduction.
  • Speed limits reset automatically — usually the next day.
  • Fixed data plans (e.g., 20GB / 30 days) are not subject to Fair Usage speed reductions.

These policies help maintain stable network performance for all users.

How fair usage works

If a large amount of data is used within a short period, your connection speed may be temporarily reduced.

This does not stop your service. You can still:

  • Browse the web
  • Use maps
  • Send messages
  • Access social media

Exact speeds depend on local network conditions and coverage.

In most cases, speeds reset automatically during the next daily cycle.

You can check out our Fair Usage Policy for Unlimited SIMs for more complete info.

Need your speed reset sooner?

If you feel your speed has been reduced and need assistance, contact our support team.

In many cases, we can manually review and reset it once per day.

What about fixed data plans?

Fixed data plans come with a set data allowance (for example, 20GB over 30 days).

  • You receive full-speed data until your allowance is used.
  • Fair Usage speed reductions do not apply.
  • Once your data is fully consumed, the service stops unless you purchase another plan.
