WHEN YOUR eSIM ACTIVATES AND HOW VALIDITY WORKS

Your eSIM only activates once you arrive in a supported country and connect to a local network. Until then, your plan doesn’t start — even if the eSIM is already installed on your device.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

You can install your eSIM ahead of time while you’re still at home. Installation alone does not trigger activation or start using your data.

Your plan only begins once your eSIM connects to a supported local network in a covered country. That exact date and time is when your eSIM’s validity starts.

For example, activate a 30-day eSIM on May 1 at 10:00 AM (local time), and it’ll stay active until May 31 at 10:00 AM — a full 30 days, counted from the exact moment you switched it on.

This means you won’t accidentally activate your eSIM early. Simply installing it, switching SIMs, or adjusting settings won’t start your plan unless you’re already in a covered destination.
