I THINK I ACCIDENTALLY ACTIVATED MY ESIM AT HOME
There’s no need to worry. Installing your Simify eSIM won’t activate your plan.
Your data only starts once your phone connects to a supported mobile network in a country covered by your eSIM.
WHAT DOESN’T ACTIVATE YOUR ESIM
Installing or preparing your eSIM does not start your plan. This includes:
- Scanning the QR code
- Adding the eSIM to your phone
- Seeing the eSIM listed in your device settings
Your data remains unused until you connect to a supported network in a covered destination.
WHEN ACTIVATION ACTUALLY HAPPENS
Your Simify plan begins only when:
- You are physically in a country covered by your plan and
- Your device connects to a local mobile network
Until then, your plan stays inactive—even if the eSIM is already installed.
Important exception: Global or multi-country plans
Some plans (such as global eSIMs) include many countries, sometimes including your home country.
In these cases, activation can happen at home—but only if the eSIM line is actively turned on and allowed to connect to a mobile network.
If you’re traveling soon and want to avoid early activation, you can simply keep the eSIM inactive until departure.
Want to be extra careful before you travel?
If your plan includes your home country, you may prefer to keep your eSIM turned off until you arrive at your destination. This helps prevent early activation before your trip begins.
If you’re unsure whether your plan has already started, you can easily check your Simify eSIM status. And if you’d like to delay activation, you can also turn your Simify eSIM on or off anytime in your device settings. If you’d rather have someone confirm everything for you, our support team is always happy to help.
